Privacy policy

This policy covers the StayCast website. It is written to describe what this site actually does today, which is a short list: it shows you what we are building and, if you choose, records that you want early access.
Who we are
StayCast is an independent project rather than a registered company. It is run by one person, who is responsible for anything you send through this site and who reads everything that arrives at hello@staycast.app. If that changes — if StayCast becomes a company — this page changes with it.
What we collect
When you fill in the waitlist form, we record what you type:
- Your name and email address.
- How many screens you are considering, where you take bookings, and what TVs your properties use.
- Your answer to the pricing question shown after you sign up, if you choose to answer it.
Alongside that we record which advertisement or link brought you here (Google click identifier and campaign parameters from the URL), so we can tell which messages people respond to.
We also use Google Analytics on every page. It sets cookies and collects standard usage data — pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how far you scroll. Google Ads conversion tracking records that a signup followed an ad click.
We do not ask for, and do not want, payment details. There is nothing to pay for on this site.
Why we collect it
The contact details exist so we can email you when StayCast opens to new properties. The answers about your properties tell us what to build first. The analytics and advertising data tell us whether people want this at all — that is the entire reason this site exists right now.
We rely on your consent for the waitlist, and on our legitimate interest in understanding demand for the analytics. You can withdraw either at any time.
Who else sees it
Google, as the provider of Analytics and Ads, and the third-party service that stores the form submissions on our behalf. Nobody else. We do not sell your details and we do not share them with other advertisers.
How long we keep it
Waitlist entries are kept until StayCast launches or until we abandon the idea, whichever comes first, and for no more than twenty-four months. Analytics data follows Google’s own retention period.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@staycast.app and we will action it within thirty days. Deletion means deletion — there is no archive.
If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies
The only cookies on this site are the ones set by Google Analytics and Google Ads, described above. You can block them in your browser settings and every part of this site will still work.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
